There are a lot of experts who get hung up on turning third-party links in bio – like Linktree, TapBio, or Campsite – into a hidden page hosted on your own website so you get the traffic and can capture the information of everyone who clicks a link.

While this is ultimately a good idea (one that I’m implementing in my own business!), that’s not the focus of this post. I don’t think it matters where you host your link in bio, and if it stresses you out to migrate your links to a hidden website page… just don’t!

Today we’re going to talk about how to optimize the links you share in your Instagram bio to make it easy for potential patients to access your resources and get to where they need to go directly from your Instagram.

Have you ever clicked on someone’s Instagram link in bio and been overwhelmed by the sheer number of options? Whenever that happens, most people simply click out and don’t bother working through the chaos.

To avoid losing interested patients, limit yourself to 5 links max.

This way you can share things like your blog, Fullscript store, a free download, and an affiliate code or two without overwhelming people.

If you have more than 5 places you want to direct people, do some prioritizing and only share the most important ones!

For anyone who has a bunch of affiliate codes, consider putting them all on one page so you can share all of your codes in one link.

You’ve done the hard work of getting someone interested enough to click through to your link in bio.

But now… you need to make the link enticing enough to encourage your visitor to take action.

I see a lot of links in bio that say things like:

  • Join my email list
  • Read my blog
  • Sign up for my newsletter

But here’s what you need to know… No one wants to join your newsletter or read your blog. (Ouch, but it’s true.)

You have to give them a reason to click. What’s in it for them?

Focus on adding value to your buttons!

  • Join my email list can become Free Anxiety Tips Straight to Your Inbox
  • Read my blog can become 10 Stretches to Start Your Day (if this is a post you have on your blog!)

You’ll see a much higher click through rate when you focus on why your ideal patient would want to click instead of asking them to do something for you.

One final tip for optimizing your Instagram link in bio is to save one link for time-sensitive things like sales, deals, or waitlists for upcoming programs or classes.

This should usually be the top link in the list!

If you use this strategy, just make sure you make a note to change out the link or disable it once the time-sensitive event or discount has ended.

When you put all of these quick, easy tips together, you’ll find more people interacting with and clicking through your link in bio… which means more eyes on your offers and more patients on your books!
