Five Easy Reel Ideas (with examples) for Health and Wellness Businesses

No fancy tech or editing skills required for these super simple Instagram Reel ideas.

Instagram reach (the number of unique people who see your posts) has been down for many reasons (across the board) for regular posts. Reels can seem more labor and time-intensive to create, BUT these five types of Reels are super simple- promise. Enjoy!

1. The 5-second video

Take a short video of anything- it can be of you working and sped up, a video of outdoor scenery, a stock video from Canva Pro, whatever.

It’s simply a 5-second video. It can be anything like you working, typing, adjusting, filling orders, writing, walking, WHATEVER – sped up or slowed down or a pieced-together montage. We then add a trending sound and the only text over the Reel is a compelling hook to read the caption.

Here are some examples:

This one was created from a Canva stock video! How easy! (Hi Erica! This is a client’s Reel we created for them)

Then, all we do is treat it like a post – the meat of the info is in the caption, and no video editing is required. When people are reading the caption, guess what happens? The video plays over and over and over – racking up views.

I’m not saying EVERY Reel should be this way- but it’s a good way to leverage Reels views but treat it like a normal post.

2. The Montage

Montage:  create a reel using videos you already have, like this. Also, you could include educational content like this.

3. The Quote

You can make this in Canva easy-peasy! Create a new design- Instagram Story Size- Upload a video (or go to Elements-Video for stock video), then add a quote box over the top. Trim to 5-7 seconds for max views and put in a trending audio in Reels.

4. The Typing Reel

How EASY is this Reel idea! Use the screen record feature on your iPhone or Android to type out a message. The only tweaks I would make to the example: space the text down so it’s in the “safe zone” (imagine a square in the middle of the rectangle shape of your phone) and speed up the video a little to keep it more interesting so it’s 5-7 seconds long total.

5. The Writing Reel

Another insanely EASY Reel to make! I use my Neewer Ring Light to hold my phone, but you could also have someone else hold it if you don’t have one OR get crafty with some masking tape.
